Coming soon to a polling place near you: Smartmatic/Sequoia voting machines - owned ( in significant part ) by "cat's paws" for the Government of Venezuela.
What's so bad about that ? Hugo Chavez and his merry marauders set them up so that-when someone voted, the government could see who they were, and how they voted.
They also set them up with a database of (probably deceased) "voters" ,and folks with duplicate voting privileges : all of whom (as might be expected) were quite enthusiastic about Hugo Chavez. (Did he not bring them back to life ? Did he not reward loyalty with extra privileges ?)

There have been some problems with the existing Diebold machines-very serious, very embarassing ones-but jumping from the frying pan into the fire doesn't sound like a particularly wise option !
